Why?

The idea of studying someone's mind to figure out why they turned out the way they are intrigues me. Pin-pointing an event in someone's life that may have "turned them bad" or the way they handled them created a domino effect to become the way they are. Mostly referring to serial killers, and studies done on many of them point to a poor childhood, and events like that. However, I wonder, what was the difference between a serial killer that was abused in their childhood and an executive at a company, married happily, that may have gone through similar occurrences?

What Do I Want To Do?

I plan on studying psychology and if the college I attend offers, I would double major in criminal justice or criminology alongside psychology. I then plan on attending graduate school at the John Jay School for Criminal Justice in the city and majoring in forensic psychology. This field interests me because originally I wanted to be a adolescent psychologist, but I realize I do not have enough patience for children and I find myself indulging in all of the crime shows on a regular basis.

Starting WISE

When I heard about the WISE program I was excited to actually do something I want to do or possibly even something that will relate to what I want to do in the future. Upon signing up I was just about clueless as to what my project or internship might be. It seemed like everyone knew what they were going to be doing and had some direction. I didn't even know who I was going to be considering for my mentor,  and the whole class seemed to become overwhelming.
